Frequently Asked Questions

Are Duralex glass ramekins oven safe?
Yes. These Ovenchef® ramekins are made from reinforced tempered glass built specifically for the oven - ideal for crème brûlée, soufflés, and baked eggs.
What temperatures can the ramekins handle?
They’re made from reinforced tempered glass resistant to a thermal shock of 392°F (200°C), so they can go straight from the freezer to the oven.
Can the ramekins also go in the microwave, freezer, and dishwasher?
Yes. Beyond the oven, Ovenchef® ramekins are microwave, freezer, and dishwasher safe - one dish for baking, storing, and reheating.
Where are Duralex ramekins made?
They’re made in France at Duralex’s La Chapelle-Saint-Mesmin factory, from non-toxic glass that is lead-free and cadmium-free, and sold in the US through Duralex USA. (Note: they are made in France, not the USA.)
What are the ramekins used for, and are they stackable?
They’re sized for individual portions - desserts, dips, sauces, and condiments - and their non-porous glass won’t absorb colors or flavors. The design is stackable to save space in the cupboard.
What size ramekin should I get?
The ramekins are made for individual portions. For baked desserts like crème brûlée, custards, and single servings, go with the standard ramekin size; for dips, sauces, and condiments, a smaller size works well. If you’re buying mainly for baking, the standard size is the safe everyday choice.
